A established business based in Nottingham is seeking a highly skilled and organised Payroll Manager to join their team. The Payroll Manager will oversee and manage the end-to-end payroll for the business, ensuring compliance with all statutory requirements and providing guidance to internal stakeholders on payroll-related matters.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process monthly payroll for all employees.
  • Ensure timely and accurate payment of wages, deductions, and bonuses.
  • Manage all payroll-related queries from employees and internal stakeholders.
  • Ensure the accurate calculation and submission of tax, pension contributions, and other statutory deductions (e.g., National Insurance, PAYE, etc.).

Compliance & Reporting:

  • Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, including PAYE, NI, pensions, and HMRC reporting.
  • Processing all new LGPS admitted body status for each new contract.
  • Prepare and submit payroll-related reports to internal stakeholders (e.g., Finance and HR departments).
  • Oversee the preparation and submission of annual P60 and P11D forms.
  • Ensure compliance with GDPR and data protection regulations when handling payroll information.
  • Maintain and update payroll procedures and processes for continual improvement.
  • Collaborate with the HR team to ensure accurate and timely updates to employee records, including new starters, leavers, and changes to personal information.
  • Work closely with the Finance team to reconcile payroll data and ensure alignment with financial reports.
  • Assist in monthly audits or reviews related to payroll processes.

System Management:

  • Ensure payroll software is maintained and updated, liaising with relevant vendors for technical support and troubleshooting.
  • Participate in the implementation of new payroll systems or processes as required.

What you need to have:

  • Proven experience as a Payroll Manager or in a similar payroll management role.
  • Strong knowledge of UK payroll legislation, tax, NI, pensions, and other statutory deductions.
  • Experience with payroll software – (SAGE/IRIS).
  • CIPP qualification.
