The Role
As the Finance Business Partner, you will act as a trusted advisor to operational and commercial teams, supporting decisions around pricing, margins, costs, investments, and performance improvement initiatives. Key responsibilities include:
- Partnering with internal teams to provide commercial and financial insight
- Leading margin reviews and identifying trends, risks, opportunities, and actions to improve performance
- Supporting commercial decision-making through financial modelling and scenario analysis
- Evaluating the financial impact of product changes, operational initiatives, and customer-related costs
- Challenging investment proposals through robust return, payback, and sensitivity analysis
- Driving improvements in forecasting, budgeting, and reporting processes
- Supporting the development of product and operational margin analysis
- Leading annual budgets and periodic reforecasts across multiple cost centres
- Working with Finance, Data, and Operational teams to enhance reporting and automation
- Managing and developing one direct report
About You
We're looking for a commercially focused finance professional who can build strong relationships, challenge effectively, and communicate financial information clearly to non-finance stakeholders. You will ideally have:
- ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualification
- Experience within Finance Business Partnering, Commercial Finance or a similar role
- Strong financial modelling, forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis skills
- Experience working with large data sets and identifying key commercial drivers
- The confidence to influence and challenge senior stakeholders constructively
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- Experience with Power BI, ERP systems or reporting automation tools would be advantageous
- Experience within retail/consumer-facing businesses or a private equity-backed environment would be beneficial
