About the Client
Our client is an agile, fast-growing non-bank lender specializing in bespoke short-term finance solutions. Free from traditional banking bureaucracy, they pride themselves on speed, flexibility, and structuring complex deals that traditional lenders cannot. Due to sustained growth and ambitious market expansion plans, they are seeking an entrepreneurial Senior Leader to spearhead their Bridging and Commercial lending division.
The Role
As a Senior Leader, you will hold a pivotal, high-visibility role responsible for driving the volume and value of the bridging and commercial loan book. You will combine high-level strategic origination with hands-on deal structuring, leveraging your extensive broker network to accelerate revenue growth. This role is designed for a heavyweight market operator who wants a direct, uncapped share of the value they create.
Key Responsibilities
- Formulate and execute a robust business development strategy to expand the commercial and bridging loan books.
- Originate high-value short-term lending opportunities through an established network of brokers, intermediaries, corporate finance advisors, and direct clients.
- Oversee and optimize the end-to-end deal lifecycle from initial enquiry and structuring to credit paper preparation and completion.
- Manage key intermediary relationships, ensuring our client remains the lender of choice for complex or time-critical transactions.
- Maintain a deep, real-time understanding of the UK specialist lending landscape, compliance requirements, and macro-economic factors.
- Collaborate closely with credit risk and underwriting teams to ensure originations align with risk appetite while maintaining deal momentum.
The Candidate
- Proven track record of success within a non-bank lender, specialist broker, or commercial banking environment.
- Deep technical expertise in bridging finance, development exit loans, and commercial mortgages.
- An active, portable network of UK brokers and professional intermediaries that can be immediately leveraged.
- Exceptional deal-structuring capabilities with a strong grasp of credit risk, property valuations, and security legalities.
- Highly entrepreneurial mindset with a natural drive to hunt for new business and close deals.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
