Role Description
As a member of our Project team, you will play a crucial role managing complex projects from conception to completion. Your expertise will be instrumental in ensuring project success, meeting deadlines, and maintaining the highest standards of quality. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, quality, procurement, and production, to deliver solutions that meet our clients’ needs and expectations. This is very much a customer focussed role so you will need excellent communication and negotiation skills. You must be able to act proactively to ensure continual progress to plan, and effective collaboration between your project team and stakeholders. You will be responsible for motivating team members and providing individual coaching in the NPI process and associated tools and techniques, when needed.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Assemble and lead a project team, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
- Motivate and influence multi-disciplined teams to ensure on time delivery of project goals.
- Ensure compliance to the project scope of work.
- Liaise with customers to manage expectations around project tasks and provide regular progress updates.
- Monitor and manage risks throughout the project lifecycle.
- Effectively manage all aspects of the project budget, including purchases, expenses, resource, and equipment.
- Maintain a comprehensive record of all project documentation, including plans, drawings, reports, meeting minutes, and compliance forms.
- Evaluate successes and failures and share best practises and opportunities for improvement with the organisation.
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety standards and procedures.
Knowledge, Skills and Behaviours
- HNC (or equivalent) in an engineering discipline; project management qualification (e.g. APM) desirable.
- Experience supporting or delivering projects within an engineering or manufacturing environment.
- Understanding of NPI processes, project lifecycles, and manufacturing constraints.
- Commercial awareness, including exposure to budgets, cost tracking, and resource planning.
- Ability to coordinate cross-functional teams and influence stakeholders to achieve project milestones.
- Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Effective communication skills, able to liaise with internal teams and customers.
- Problem-solving mindset, with the ability to identify, track, and escalate risks and issues appropriately.
- Experience with project management tools and maintaining accurate project documentation.
- Comfortable working with technical information such as drawings, specifications, and reports.
- Proactive, self-motivated, and takes ownership of tasks and project delivery.
- Collaborative and adaptable, with a positive, customer-focused approach.
