A global technology driven organisation operating within a highly regulated and data intensive environment is seeking a Global Head of Data Protection. This strategically important leadership role is responsible for shaping and overseeing the organisation's global privacy and data protection framework. The successful individual will act as a trusted adviser to senior leadership, ensuring privacy considerations are effectively embedded across the business whilst supporting continued growth, innovation and international expansion.
The role offers the opportunity to influence privacy strategy at a global scale, working closely with executive stakeholders across legal, compliance, technology, product and operational functions.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the development, implementation and ongoing enhancement of the organisation's global privacy and data protection programme.
- Act as the senior subject matter expert on privacy, data governance and evolving regulatory requirements across multiple jurisdictions.
- Provide independent oversight and challenge in relation to privacy risk, data governance and data lifecycle management activities.
- Advise senior leadership on emerging regulatory developments, privacy risks and strategic business initiatives.
- Partner with legal, compliance, security, technology and product teams to ensure privacy principles are embedded throughout business operations and product development.
- Support the responsible use of artificial intelligence, advanced analytics and emerging technologies through appropriate governance frameworks.
- Oversee engagement with regulatory bodies and support responses to regulatory enquiries, audits and investigations.
- Drive privacy by design principles across new products, services, partnerships and market expansion initiatives.
- Develop governance, reporting and escalation frameworks for executive stakeholders and relevant committees.

- Significant experience leading privacy and data protection programmes within global technology, financial services, fintech or digital platform organisations.
- Previous experience operating as a Data Protection Officer, Chief Privacy Officer, Head of Privacy or equivalent senior privacy leader.
- Deep expertise across GDPR, UK GDPR and broader international privacy and data protection frameworks.
- Experience advising organisations operating within large scale technology, digital product or customer data environments.
- Exposure to AI governance, data ethics and emerging technology risk management.
- Strong experience engaging with regulators and supervisory authorities.
- A track record of influencing executive stakeholders and operating effectively within complex organisational structures.
