Chief Compliance Officer | Fintech | London (Hybrid)

Alexander Barnes is exclusively partnering with one of the UK's fastest growing fintech's to appoint a Chief Compliance Officer.

This isn't a role where you inherit someone else's framework and keep the lights on.

It's a blank page.

You'll be the most senior compliance voice in the business, sitting alongside the Founder and shaping how one of the most exciting names in UK.

The business

VC-backed, scaling fast, and built around a simple mission: helping people access credit and build a better financial future.

Its flagship credit card product is already making an impact, and an AI-led roadmap means the next chapter is even bigger.

  • Why this role stands out
  • Real ownership. You'll design the compliance function from the ground up, with no legacy and no layers of sign off.
  • A direct line to the top. You'll work hand in hand with the Founder, with a genuine say in strategy, product and growth, not just risk.
  • Equity. You'll join the options plan once it launches, so you share in the value you help build.
  • Visibility. You'll own the FCA relationship and be the name the regulator knows.
  • Pace. Your decisions land in weeks, not quarters.
  • Who we're looking for

You're a senior compliance leader with 12 to 15 years experience in financial services or fintech, ideally with strong exposure to consumer lending.

You've built compliance programmes rather than just run them.

You know FCA rules, Consumer Duty and consumer credit regulation inside out, and you're commercial enough to make compliance an enabler rather than a blocker.

You have the presence to influence at executive and board level, and you want to be in the room where decisions get made.

CAMS, CRCP or similar is a bonus.

If you've been waiting for the chance to build something rather than inherit it, this is it.
