We are seeking a Geotechnical Engineer to support the delivery of a major £400 million Thames Water infrastructure project. You will provide technical assurance and geotechnical support, helping manage construction risks and protect existing assets, utilities, and structures throughout design and construction.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide geotechnical and asset protection advice to project and construction teams.
- Review engineering designs, technical reports, calculations and construction methodologies.
- Assess potential impacts of construction activities on existing assets, structures and utilities.
- Support the development and implementation of risk mitigation measures.
- Review temporary works and construction proposals from contractors and designers.
- Support monitoring, inspection and assurance activities during construction.
- Liaise with designers, contractors, consultants, clients and stakeholders.
- Participate in design reviews, risk workshops and technical assurance processes.
- Assist with resolution of engineering issues arising during project delivery.
- Support compliance with project specifications, industry standards and client requirements.
- Prepare and review technical reports and engineering documentation.
Requirements
- Degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Engineering Geology or a related discipline.
- Experience working on major infrastructure, utilities, water, rail or civil engineering projects.
- Understanding of geotechnical engineering principles and construction methods.
- Experience reviewing technical designs and engineering documentation.
- Knowledge of excavation, foundations, retaining structures, temporary works and ground movement risks.
- Understanding of asset protection and construction risk management principles.
- Strong analytical, communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to interpret technical reports, drawings and calculations.
