We're looking for an experienced Senior Civil Construction Manager to lead the civil construction delivery of a landmark £400 million Thames Water flagship project based in East London. As Senior Civil Construction Manager, you will take overall responsibility for the planning, coordination and delivery of all civil construction works, ensuring the project is delivered safely, on programme, within budget and to the highest quality standards. In addition to leading project delivery, you will provide technical leadership, mentorship and training to engineers and site teams, helping to drive excellence across the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the successful delivery of the civil construction package on a £400m Thames Water flagship project.
- Oversee construction activities, programme, quality, cost and resource management.
- Ensure full compliance with health, safety, environmental and quality standards.
- Collaborate with design, commercial and client teams to achieve project objectives.
- Manage project risks and identify opportunities to improve delivery.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with Thames Water and key stakeholders.
- Mentor, coach and develop engineers, construction managers and site teams.
- Support knowledge sharing, continuous improvement and professional development across the business.
Requirements
- Chartered Engineer (CEng) status through ICE or an equivalent professional institution.
- Extensive experience managing the civil delivery of major infrastructure projects.
- Strong background within the UK water or wastewater sector, ideally delivering projects for Thames Water.
- Proven leadership experience managing large multidisciplinary construction teams.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Passion for developing and mentoring engineers.
- Strong commercial awareness and experience delivering complex projects safely and successfully.
