A leading engineering and water infrastructure organisation is seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to join its growing team. This is an exciting opportunity for a mechanical engineer with experience in the water and wastewater sector to play a key role in delivering high-quality, cost-effective engineering solutions across a range of projects.
The Role
- Producing and checking mechanical design deliverables, including drawings, specifications, schedules and calculations.
- Developing cost-effective designs that meet project specifications, programme and budget requirements.
- Coordinating mechanical designs with other engineering disciplines and contributing to 3D plant/site models.
- Working closely with construction teams, suppliers and other stakeholders to ensure designs are practical and buildable.
- Supporting proposals and tenders with technical input and cost estimates.
- Ensuring designs comply with relevant industry standards, CDM 2015 and health & safety requirements.
- Supporting the development of engineering processes and procedures.
- Mentoring and supporting less experienced engineers.
- Maintaining strong customer and stakeholder relationships throughout project delivery.
About You
- Significant experience in mechanical engineering design within the water, wastewater or process engineering sector.
- Experience designing mechanical aspects of water or wastewater treatment plants.
- A relevant Engineering degree/HND or equivalent experience.
- Chartered Engineer status or membership of a relevant professional institution.
- Good knowledge of water treatment, mechanical engineering and multidisciplinary project delivery.
- Working knowledge of CDM 2015 and relevant industry standards and regulations, including PUWER, LOLER, PSSR and DSEAR.
- Strong technical, analytical and communication skills.
- Experience mentoring or supervising engineering staff.
- The flexibility to travel to project sites and regional offices when required.
- A relevant Master's degree would be advantageous.
