Senior Civil Design Engineer – United Utilities AMP 8 Location: Manchester (Flexible Hybrid) Contract: Long-term - Outside IR35 Our client, a leading Tier 1 contractor, is seeking an experienced Senior Civil Design Engineer to join their team on a long-term contract basis, supporting delivery on the United Utilities AMP8 framework. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a major programme of investment in water and wastewater infrastructure, delivering critical projects across the North West. Key Responsibilities Lead the development of civil engineering designs from concept through to detailed design and construction support Produce cost-effective, sustainable, and buildable design solutions Coordinate design activities across multi-disciplinary engineering teams Ensure compliance with CDM regulations, relevant standards, and health & safety requirements Prepare and review design calculations, drawings, specifications, and technical reports Provide technical input to proposals, planning, and project delivery Support delivery to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget Mentor and support junior engineers and designers Maintain accurate project documentation and BIM compliance Engage with stakeholders including clients, contractors, and internal teams Requirements Degree in Civil Engineering (or related discipline) Demonstrable experience in a civil design engineering role within infrastructure projects Strong experience in the water and/or wastewater sector (highly desirable) Background in a design and build environment Good understanding of CDM regulations and engineering standards Ability to lead technical design work and coordinate teams Strong communication and stakeholder management skills Ideally Chartered Engineer status (or working towards) If you are a Senior Civil Design Engineer looking to contribute to a high-profile infrastructure framework with a leading Tier 1 contractor, we would love to hear from you
