Our client, a leading Tier 1 infrastructure and engineering contractor, is seeking an experienced Senior Procurement & Supply Chain Manager to strengthen supplier performance management across a large and complex supply chain. This is a specialist role with no direct line management responsibilities, focused on driving supplier performance, continuous improvement, compliance, and value creation through effective processes, systems, and stakeholder engagement. The successful candidate will work closely with procurement teams, operational stakeholders, and suppliers to ensure best-practice performance management is embedded across the business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the implementation and evolution of the Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) framework.
  • Coordinate supplier performance reviews, corrective action plans, and continuous improvement activities.
  • Develop and maintain supplier performance dashboards, reporting tools, and KPI frameworks.
  • Improve performance management processes, systems, and controls to enhance efficiency, transparency, and risk management.
  • Drive opportunities for automation and digitalisation within supplier performance and reporting activities.
  • Ensure sustainability, safety, compliance, and other strategic objectives are incorporated into supplier performance evaluations.
  • Work with stakeholders across projects and business units to embed consistent performance management standards and best practices.
  • Deliver training, guidance, and support materials to enhance organisational capability.
  • Promote a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement across the supply chain.
  • Support supplier performance reporting for senior leadership and executive teams.

Experience

Essential

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in Procurement, Supply Chain, Supplier Relationship Management (SRM), or Supplier Performance Management.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills with the ability to influence at all levels.
  • Experience using digital tools and technology to optimise procurement and supply chain performance.
  • Proven background in supplier management and/or project management.
  • Strong change management and stakeholder engagement experience.
  • Ability to operate effectively within complex and evolving environments.
  • Excellent written, verbal, presentation, and reporting skills.
  • Confidence to challenge existing processes and drive continuous improvement.
  • Strong analytical, numerical, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, and Teams.

Desirable

  • Experience within infrastructure, engineering, construction, or similar sectors.
  • Experience working in a matrix organisation.
  • Experience developing KPI frameworks that support business objectives and continuous improvement.
  • Knowledge of cloud-based procurement and supply chain systems.
  • Understanding of sourcing, contracting, and supplier management processes.

Qualifications

Essential

  • A-Level, BTEC, or equivalent qualification in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.

Desirable

  • Membership of a recognised professional body such as CIPS, CPSM, CDMP, DAMA, or equivalent.
