An established engineering company in the water sector is seeking an Electrical Engineer to join its Electrical Engineering team. This is a permanent role based in Birmingham with a fixed hybrid schedule.

Role Purpose: Design, specify, and requisition electrical equipment in accordance with industry, client, and company standards for water and wastewater projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop electrical designs in line with British Standards, client specifications, and company standards.
  • Prepare detailed drawings, specifications, and requisitions for equipment, materials, and services.
  • Monitor and coordinate sub-contractors for control systems, panels, and specialist electrical equipment.
  • Conduct inspections, ex-works testing, and, if required, site commissioning and testing.
  • Supervise CAD operators and junior electrical engineers where required.
  • Ensure compliance with company procedures and quality assurance systems.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in electrical engineering within water/wastewater projects.
  • Strong technical knowledge of LV systems, MCCs, control panels, and related electrical equipment.
  • Experience preparing specifications, technical documentation, and coordinating sub-contractors.
  • Contractor or design & build project experience desirable.

This role offers hybrid working, hands-on project involvement, and the opportunity to contribute to a wide range of water and wastewater infrastructure projects.
