AOCS Engineer Alexander Associates are working with a new space company who are developing cutting-edge satellites capable of flying at just 200 km altitude using a unique air-breathing electric propulsion system. As they gear up for their first mission, they’re in a critical growth phase and are seeking an experienced AOCS Engineer to join their fast-growing team. What You’ll Do as an AOCS Engineer: * Lead AOCS architecture design, including sensors, actuators, and control algorithms. * Develop and implement attitude control and pointing algorithms * Model, simulate, and validate system performance * Select and integrate AOCS components (e.g., reaction wheels, star trackers) * Run hardware-in-the-loop and in-orbit tests * Support GNC operations post-launch * Document and communicate technical progress clearly Skills/Experience of the AOCS Engineer: * Degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering (Master’s preferred) * 2–5 years’ experience in spacecraft AOCS development and testing * Strong grasp of sensors, actuators, and control systems * Proficiency in C/C++, Python, MATLAB; experience with Git * Solid understanding of orbital mechanics and system integration * Hands-on experience with simulations and hardware testing Why Join Us: * Work on breakthrough propulsion tech for ultra-low orbits * Own full lifecycle responsibilities and make a real impact * Competitive salary with equity * Full health coverage (medical, dental, optical), annual check-ups, and more
