Overview
In this senior SHEQ leadership role within a major UK water infrastructure programme, you will set strategic direction for Safety, Health, Environment and Quality across a regional framework. You will lead a high-performing SHEQ team, shaping culture and collaborating with clients, delivery partners and stakeholders. You will champion a positive safety culture, ensure compliance with legislation and management systems, and use performance data to drive improvement and innovation. This is a pivotal role for delivering operational excellence on a long-term infrastructure programme.
Responsibilities
- Set strategic direction for SHEQ across a regional framework
- Lead and grow a multi-disciplinary SHEQ team
- Build and maintain relationships with clients, partners and stakeholders
- Champion a positive safety culture and regulatory compliance
- Use performance data to identify opportunities for improvement and innovation
- Drive continuous improvement in safety, health, environment and quality across projects
Key requirements
- NEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent) and Chartered IOSH membership (CMIOSH)
- Environmental qualification and risk assessment competence
- Strong understanding of SHE legislation, industry standards and management systems
- Proven leadership and stakeholder management skills at senior levels
- Excellent analytical, communication and relationship-building skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Visio)
- Experience leading multi-disciplinary SHEQ teams in construction/utilities or similar environment
