Resource & Supply Chain Manager – Water
Location: London (Flexible Hybrid)We are seeking an experienced Resource & Supply Chain Manager to lead resource planning, supplier management, procurement, and logistics across operational and project activities within a specialist water and wastewater engineering environment.
Key Responsibilities Lead and maintain effective resource planning processes that promote safety, efficiency, cost control, and quality delivery.
Coordinate project resource requirements and optimise the utilisation of Site Managers, Engineers, Supervisors, and specialist personnel.
Forecast future resource needs, identify capacity gaps, and support workforce and recruitment planning.
Monitor utilisation rates, workloads, annual leave, and temporary labour requirements.
Manage project delivery schedules in collaboration with Project Managers and Engineers.
Ensure resources, materials, equipment, and documentation are available when required.
Develop and continuously improve planning systems, processes, and reporting.
Identify and mitigate risks affecting resource availability, logistics, supply chain performance, or project delivery.
Manage and develop supplier and subcontractor relationships, including sourcing, onboarding, performance monitoring, and contract management.
Coordinate procurement activities to support project programmes and delivery milestones.
Negotiate commercial agreements and ensure value for money across procurement activities.
Coordinate logistics, transportation, hired equipment, and supplier contracts.
Resolve supply chain issues and implement improvement initiatives.
Produce reports and dashboards covering resource utilisation, capacity planning, forecasting, supplier performance, and project support metrics.
Ensure compliance with company procedures and relevant ISO standards (9001, 14001 and 45001).
Promote collaboration across Operations, Projects, Technical, and Procurement teams.
Support business growth through effective planning, supplier management, and operational excellence.
Experience Required Proven experience in resource planning, coordination, and scheduling within a complex project environment.
Demonstrated success in improving operational performance through effective planning and resource management.
Experience managing suppliers, subcontractors, procurement activities, and logistics functions.
Strong knowledge of resource planning and scheduling software, including Microsoft Project and/or Primavera P6.
Experience producing performance reports, forecasts, and management information.
A collaborative approach with the ability to build strong working relationships across teams and stakeholders.
Skills & Qualifications Resource Planning qualification and/or relevant software expertise.
Excellent organisational, time management, and prioritisation skills.
Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving capabilities.
