We are currently supporting a leading engineering business within the water treatment sector in their search for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join their growing team.
This is a long term contract, outside ir35 with remote working considered (must be based in the UK).
The Role You will act as the sole Mechanical Engineer across several concurrent projects, taking ownership of mechanical design input, specification, and procurement activities.
Key responsibilities include: Specifying and procuring pumps, blowers, and steelwork fabrications Supporting delivery of multiple medium-scale water treatment projects Working closely with suppliers and fabrication partners across the UKAttending factory acceptance tests (FATs) at various UK sites Ensuring engineering solutions are delivered to quality, cost, and schedule requirements About You We are looking for a self-sufficient and fast-learning engineer who is comfortable taking ownership of their work.
Ideally you will have: Minimum 5 years’ Mechanical Engineering experience Background in a supplier, contractor, or manufacturing environment (preferred over consultancy or water utility experience)Experience with mechanical equipment such as pumps, blowers, and fabricated steelwork Strong practical engineering and procurement exposure Ability to work independently across multiple projects A full UK driving licence and ability to travel is essential.
