We are seeking a Design Coordinator to join a dynamic engineering and infrastructure team delivering major projects across the utilities and environmental sectors.
The role focuses on supporting design activities across multiple projects, coordinating with design teams, project managers, and external consultants to ensure designs meet technical, programme, and budget requirements.
This is a hands-on role ideal for someone with a strong understanding of design processes, collaborative project delivery, and digital engineering tools.
The successful candidate will contribute to ensuring high standards of design quality, safety, and technical excellence.
Key Responsibilities Coordinate and support multidisciplinary design activities across projects.
Assist project teams in developing and delivering design documentation according to programme schedules.
Maintain effective communication with project managers, design consultants, subcontractors, and internal teams.
Attend and contribute to design meetings, ensuring minutes and actions are recorded and followed up.
Support implementation of safe design practices, risk assessments, and compliance with relevant safety and environmental standards.
Help manage enquiries from designers, supply chain, and subcontractors.
Promote digital design best practices, including BIM, Df MA, standardisation, and sustainable design approaches.
Assist in value engineering, buildability reviews, and integrated project programme development.
Track and report on design progress, changes, and performance metrics.
Candidate Profile Good understanding of design and construction programmes.
Strong organisational, problem-solving, and multitasking skills.
Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.
Knowledge of 2D/3D design tools and digital engineering platforms, including BIM, is desirable.
Awareness of safety in design principles and relevant health and safety regulations.
Experience in construction, infrastructure, utilities, or environmental sectors is advantageous.
Degree in Engineering, Design, Construction Management, or related discipline.
Membership of a relevant professional body is desirable.
