We are seeking an experienced Civil Site Supervisor with a strong background in the water industry to oversee site operations on infrastructure and utilities projects across South East London. This contract role requires a hands-on professional with a solid understanding of water and wastewater works, ensuring delivery is safe, compliant, and efficient.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise daily site activities on water and wastewater projects, including pipelines, drainage, and associated civil works
- Coordinate subcontractors, plant, labour, and materials to meet programme requirements
- Ensure all works are carried out in line with health, safety, environmental, and quality standards
- Oversee installation of water mains, sewers, pumping stations, or treatment-related infrastructure
- Monitor progress and provide regular updates to project management teams
- Conduct site inspections, risk assessments, and toolbox talks
- Ensure compliance with relevant industry regulations and client specifications (e.g., Thames Water standards)
- Identify and resolve on-site issues promptly to avoid delays
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Site Supervisor within the water or utilities sector
- Strong knowledge of water infrastructure, including mains laying, drainage, and civil engineering works
- Valid CSCS card (essential); SSSTS or SMSTS required
- Good understanding of health, safety, and environmental regulations within the utilities sector
- Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills
- Ability to manage site operations in a fast-paced environment
