We’re working with a fast-growing technology business supporting major UK water companies with infrastructure planning, optimisation and digital transformation projects across clean water, wastewater and bioresources. This is an opportunity for someone with experience in the UK water sector who enjoys solving complex operational or planning challenges and has an interest in data, modelling, analytics or digital technologies.
The business delivers innovative decision-support and optimisation solutions used by utilities to improve resilience, efficiency, sustainability and long-term investment planning. Projects can range from water resource planning and wastewater network optimisation through to sludge, bioresources and energy recovery strategies. You do not need to have experience across every area. Candidates from either clean water, wastewater or bioresources backgrounds are encouraged to apply.
You’ll work closely with both internal teams and water industry clients to support the development and delivery of data-led solutions for infrastructure and operational planning projects. The role will involve a mix of stakeholder engagement, problem solving, analysis and technical delivery, helping clients make better long-term decisions across their asset base.
Typical responsibilities may include:
- Supporting water sector planning and optimisation projects
- Working with operational, planning and asset data
- Helping translate business challenges into practical technical solutions
- Engaging with clients and stakeholders to understand project requirements
- Scenario modelling, analytics and performance improvement work
- Supporting development of digital tools, modelling approaches and decision-support solutions
- Collaborating with multidisciplinary technical teams
We’re interested in speaking with candidates who understand the UK water industry and have exposure to some of the following areas:
- Water, wastewater or bioresources infrastructure/projects
- Asset planning or operational optimisation
- Hydraulic, network or process modelling

- Sustainability, resilience or environmental programmes
Experience with any of the following would be beneficial, but not essential:
- Python, R or SQL
- Excel/data analysis tools

- Water industry modelling platforms such as InfoWorks, Flood Modeller, PyWR or similar
