Location: Leeds – Hybrid role 3 days per week on client sites. SC clearance required (or eligible).

We’re looking for an experienced Cloud Developer (AWS) to join a collaborative, DevOps‑driven engineering team, working on the design and development of scalable, cloud native applications. You’ll be hands‑on building and maintaining backend services using modern programming languages and AWS managed services, contributing to secure, well‑architected solutions that run at scale. This role suits a developer with strong cloud experience who enjoys owning features end‑to‑end, working closely with peers, and continuously improving how software is built, deployed, and operated in a modern AWS environment.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain backend services using AWS managed services.
  • Build and manage CI/CD pipelines with Git and GitHub Actions.
  • Implement security best practices, including RBAC, the principle of least privilege, Secrets Manager, and KMS.
  • Work with dynamic data stores such as DynamoDB and relational databases.
  • Deploy, monitor, and debug applications using tools like Datadog, CloudWatch.
  • Use Docker, ECS, CloudFormation, Step Functions, and other AWS services.

Qualifications

  • 5‑7 years of overall experience in software development using Kotlin/Java, Node.js, TypeScript, and SQL.
  • Proficiency with key AWS services: S3, Athena, Glue, Lambda, DynamoDB, OpenSearch, CloudFormation, API Gateway, ECS, CloudWatch.
  • Experience with NoSQL and SQL databases; DynamoDB common.
  • Strong understanding of AWS security principles: RBAC, least privilege, Secrets Manager, KMS.
  • CI/CD experience, strong Git workflow, GitHub Actions.
  • Knowledge of Docker, ECS, CloudFormation.
  • Monitoring/debugging experience with Datadog, CloudWatch.
  • Familiarity with Angular framework and DevSecOps concepts.
  • Growth mindset and excellent communication.
