We are working with an innovative space technology company based in Oxford who are developing advanced propulsion and fluid systems to support next-generation in-orbit missions.

Due to continued growth and ambitious programme milestones, they are looking to appoint a Propulsion & Fluid Systems Engineer to support the development of key enabling technologies from early concept through to integration, testing, and delivery.

This is a hands-on engineering role suited to someone who enjoys solving complex technical challenges and taking hardware from idea to reality.

The Role

You will play a key role in defining and delivering propulsion and fluid system architectures across UK and European space missions.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Defining propulsion and fluid system architectures
  • Developing preliminary designs and performing associated analysis
  • Managing subsystem requirements, schedules, and design budgets
  • Interfacing with propulsion subsystem and component suppliers
  • Leading technical trade studies and supporting engineering reviews
  • Planning and executing simulation and test campaigns
  • Leading hands-on build and testing of development hardware
  • Identifying technical risks and implementing mitigation strategies
  • Supporting business development activity from a technical perspective

What They’re Looking For

  • Experience delivering propulsion or fluid components/subsystems from concept through to qualification and AIT
  • Experience working within space systems engineering teams
  • Strong knowledge in one or more of:
  • Propulsion and fluid systems design
  • Propulsion MAIT
  • Experience generating verification plans and running qualification campaigns
  • Ability to translate customer needs into robust engineering requirements
  • End-to-end subsystem development (including flight operations)
  • Experience with analysis tools such as EcosimPro or Thermal Desktop
  • Understanding of spacecraft propulsion supply chains
  • Experience across varied budget environments
