We are recruiting for a long-term contract role with a leading Tier 1 contractor, supporting United Utilities’ AMP8 programme. This position offers hybrid working and the chance to take a senior commercial lead on critical water infrastructure projects across the region.
As Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will oversee commercial management and contractual control across a portfolio of water and wastewater treatment schemes within the AMP8 framework. You’ll take responsibility for managing NEC contracts, leading cost reporting, and ensuring projects deliver value, compliance, and performance for both client and contractor.
Key Responsibilities:- Leading the commercial management of NEC contracts on United Utilities AMP8 projects.
- Preparing, reviewing, and finalising valuations, variations, and accounts.
- Managing procurement strategies, subcontractor engagement, and supply chain performance.
- Producing accurate cost forecasts, commercial reports, and risk assessments.
- Providing leadership and guidance to QS teams, supporting their development and performance.
- Working collaboratively with delivery and client teams to achieve successful project outcomes.
- Strong expertise in NEC contract administration at a senior level.
- Extensive experience in the water sector, ideally including treatment works.
- Background working within Tier 1 contractors or major infrastructure frameworks.
- Strong commercial acumen, negotiation skills, and ability to mentor junior staff.
Long-term contract opportunity within AMP8. Hybrid working model with regional site visits as required. Competitive day rate, aligned to senior-level responsibilities.
