We’re working with a well-established, design-led engineering consultancy that’s looking to bring a Graduate Structural Engineer into their Cardiff office. With a strong pipeline of work across residential, commercial, education, and heritage sectors, this consultancy offers hands-on experience, technical development, and structured support toward chartership.
About the Role
As a Graduate Structural Engineer, you’ll be working closely with experienced engineers and architects on a wide variety of projects. From day one, you’ll be involved in the full project lifecycle from early design to construction developing your skills in analysis, modelling, and practical design. You’ll also be supported with ongoing training, mentorship, and access to projects that will challenge and grow your technical and creative abilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the design and analysis of building structures using a variety of materials including concrete, steel, timber, and masonry.
- Use design software and modelling tools to prepare drawings, reports, and calculations.
- Work as part of a multidisciplinary team, attending design meetings and collaborating on innovative solutions.
- Undertake site visits and inspections to see your designs come to life.
- Progress towards professional chartership with full support from senior engineers.
Required Skills & Experience
- Degree-qualified in Civil or Structural Engineering (or soon to graduate).
- A strong interest in building structures and a desire to develop a long-term career in structural engineering.
- Some familiarity with structural analysis/design software such as Tekla, ETABS, Robot, or similar.
- A proactive attitude and willingness to learn from experienced team members.
