We’re working with a major engineering contractor delivering a substantial programme of work on a long-term Thames Water framework, and they’re looking to strengthen their planning team with an experienced Senior Planner. This is a hands-on Primavera P6 planning role, supporting the delivery of complex water and wastewater projects across the framework. The position offers flexible hybrid working, with a mix of site, office and home-based time.
The role:
- Develop, maintain and manage detailed P6 programmes across multiple water projects
- Work closely with project managers, engineers and commercial teams to ensure programmes are realistic and achievable
- Lead on progress updates, critical path analysis and programme reporting
- Support change management, forecasting and mitigation planning
- Interface with the client and internal stakeholders as a senior member of the planning function
What we’re looking for:
- Strong experience as a Senior Planner (or Planner operating at senior level) using Primavera P6
- Previous experience working for an engineering contractor (essential)
- Background in water, utilities or heavy civil engineering projects
- Comfortable managing live programmes rather than purely baseline planning
- Confident communicator, able to challenge and influence delivery teams
What’s on offer:
- Opportunity to work on a high-profile Thames Water framework with long-term security
- Flexible hybrid working arrangement
- Competitive salary/day rate depending on experience
- Supportive, established planning environment within a reputable contractor
If you’re a Senior Planner with strong P6 experience and a contractor background in engineering or water projects, this is a solid long-term opportunity worth exploring.
