Our client is seeking an experienced and proactive Design Production Manager to join their team working in the water sector. This is an exciting opportunity to take on a leadership position and oversee design progress at a Framework level. As Design Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the successful delivery of projects, managing resources, and continuously improving design procedures. This is a full time permanent position with flexibility for hybrid working.
Responsibilities:
- Actively contribute to the Design Leadership Team and collaborate with stakeholders.
- Report on design progress at the Framework level.
- Oversee resource management across the Framework, ensuring the team is adequately staffed to meet project needs.
- Lead the recruitment and on-boarding process for design staff.
- Assure design team competency and coordinate ongoing training needs.
- Ensure competency for specialist outsourced designers and supply chain designers.
- Lead the development and improvement of design procedures and own the internal Design Management Audit process.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Significant line/team management experience within a Design and Build environment.
- Practical experience managing design production, including Earned Value Analysis (CPI/SPI).
- Proven track record of successful design delivery, along with experience in procedural and process improvements.
- Strong experience in profiling resource demand and managing the recruitment and onboarding of design staff.
- A positive, results-driven, flexible approach with the ability to influence and motivate others.
- A team player with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- IT proficiency, including MS Office, advanced Excel, Teams, SharePoint (ProjectWise experience is desirable but not essential).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to thrive in a dynamic environment.
- Educated to Degree level in an engineering discipline.
- Experience in Joint Ventures (preferred).
- Water sector experience, with a good understanding of water and wastewater treatment processes.
- Familiarity with BIM and digital delivery practices.
- A full UK driving licence.
