Electrical Project Engineer - Water AMP8
Location: Brighton (South East England – multi-site travel required)
Our client, a leading Tier 1 Contractor, is seeking an experienced Electrical Project Engineer to join their Environment division. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in delivering critical infrastructure projects across the South East, primarily within the water sector, including sewage and clean water schemes.
Working across multiple projects, you’ll report directly to the Project Manager and collaborate with a high-performing delivery team to ensure projects are executed efficiently, safely, and to the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead electrical engineering activities from concept through to completion
- Deliver Non-Infrastructure (Non-Infra) M&E projects within the water sector
- Manage the design process and liaise with clients, designers, and internal teams
- Conduct early-stage site investigations and coordinate with key stakeholders
- Prepare and review health & safety documentation including RAMS and project plans
- Procure materials and manage supplier and subcontractor relationships
- Attend and oversee factory acceptance testing (FAT), site testing, commissioning, and client training
- Participate in design reviews and hazard studies to optimise project outcomes
- Monitor project budgets, assist with cost reviews, and manage variations
- Ensure quality and compliance through Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs)
- Develop and maintain project programmes and documentation, including as-built drawings and O&M manuals
- Champion a strong health & safety culture across all activities
- Drive continuous improvement and innovation while maintaining compliance with industry standards
About You
You will be a motivated and driven Electrical Project Engineer with a strong track record of delivering projects in a complex environment.
Key Skills & Experience:
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Commercial and contractual awareness
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Highly organised, proactive, and solutions-focused
- Resilient, flexible, and able to influence at all levels
- A collaborative team player with a “can-do” attitude
Desirable:
- Experience within the water industry or Non-Infra projects
- Knowledge of NEC contracts, CDM regulations, ATEX, and DSEAR
Essential Qualifications
- Electrical ONC / HNC / BEng (or equivalent NVQ qualification)
- BS7671 (18th Edition)
- Full UK Driving Licence

- EUSR National Water Hygiene Card
- SMSTS
- First Aid at Work
- City & Guilds Authorised Person
