Our client, a leading UK design & build contractor delivering major water and environmental infrastructure projects, is seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team. You will be responsible for the commercial management of key projects and work packages across a significant water‐sector programme.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out full quantity surveying duties for managing projects and work packages.
  • Liaise with design, construction, and supply chain teams to capture, analyse, and manage project costs.
  • Work collaboratively with the client to ensure business and project requirements are met.
  • Manage the main contract, ensuring all contractual notices and correspondence are raised correctly and on time.
  • Prepare and issue subcontract documentation.
  • Assist in the management and performance monitoring of subcontractors.
  • Prepare and agree applications for payment.
  • Produce project cost and value reports, forecasts, and budgets.
  • Support the development and management of junior commercial staff.
  • Maintain your continuous professional development through external networking and industry engagement.
  • Promote a positive, solutions‐focused approach and provide honest, constructive feedback.
  • Undertake duties and training as required, aligned to the responsibilities of the role.
  • Present a professional image in all interactions, maintaining strong and constructive working relationships.
  • Ensure appropriate confidentiality is always upheld.

About You

  • Experience working within the water sector.
  • Degree or equivalent qualification.
  • Working towards or holding chartered membership with a recognised institution.
  • Experience in utilities, civil engineering, or MEICA environments.
  • Strong working knowledge of NEC3 contracts.
