An asset manager is improving their risk, P&L, and reporting systems and are looking for an experienced software engineer to work across several projects aimed to enhance and extend middle and back-office systems.
You will have a background in financial markets, ideally on the buy-side, with significant commercial experience developing enterprise production-grade systems in Python and/or Java, a solid understanding of financial products and their representation, as well as an appreciation of middle and back-office processes covering operations, risk, compliance, and reporting.
You will have significant familiarity or proven experience using AI coding assistants to enable faster delivery in compressed timelines, coming either commercially or from personal projects.
You should apply for this role if you are/have:
- 8+ years commercial experience developing production-grade enterprise systems in Python and/or Java
- Asset/investment management experience in the front or middle office systems space
- Financial product understanding, ideally FIC, with operations, risk and compliance systems experience
- Experience using AI coding assistants (Claude, Cursor, GitHub Copilot) with significant examples of delivery improvement
- AWS (S3, Lambda, EC2, Glue), Snowflake, Git, CI/CD, Datadog, MS SQL Server, REST, GraphQL, Airflow (as many as possible)
- Degree educated or higher in a relevant technical discipline from a leading university
This is a £650-700/day PAYE role (cf. £770-830 Umbrella as employers NI paid in addition) depending on the relevant experience of the candidate.
On site 4/5 days a week, based in London.
