ALEX – Alternative Experts is seeking a Doctrine Analyst to provide analytical support for the development, evaluation, and refinement of operational concepts, frameworks, and supporting documentation. This role builds on foundational experience to independently conduct analysis, contribute to documentation development, and support coordination across stakeholders. The position requires strong analytical capabilities, operational experience, and the ability to produce high-quality written and briefing materials that support mission planning and execution.

Requirements
  • Conduct research, analysis, and development of operational guidance and supporting documentation
  • Support the assessment and refinement of operational concepts, frameworks, and processes
  • Develop analytical products, reports, and briefing materials for stakeholder review
  • Conduct qualitative and quantitative analysis to support operational evaluations and recommendations
  • Facilitate and participate in working groups, meetings, and collaborative forums
  • Research and integrate inputs from structured systems and data sources to inform analytical outputs
  • Ensure consistency, accuracy, and quality across documentation and analytical deliverables
  • Support coordination across multiple stakeholders and organizations
  • Apply structured methodologies and frameworks to support operational analysis
  • Demonstrate strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Maintain effective working relationships across cross-functional teams

Required Experience:

Candidates must demonstrate success in five (5) or more of the following areas:

  • At least 1 year of experience equivalent to a junior-level analyst role
  • Subject matter expertise in a functional area (e.g., intelligence, logistics, command and control, cyberspace, space, or planning)
  • Experience applying principles that guide operational frameworks and doctrine-like processes
  • Experience supporting development and assessment of operational concepts and documentation
  • Knowledge of organizational structures, missions, and relationships within large federal or military organizations
  • Experience coordinating across multiple organizations and stakeholder groups
  • Experience using lessons learned systems or structured research methodologies
  • Experience supporting task-based or framework-driven operational processes
  • Strong written communication skills, including grammar, clarity, and professional formatting
  • Experience preparing for and supporting working groups, meetings, and conferences

Preferred Skills and Qualifications:

  • Experience supporting federal or DoD programs
  • Familiarity with structured planning, readiness, or assessment processes
  • Experience working in collaborative, multi-organizational environments
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently while supporting team-based execution

Education and Certifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience;
  • OR No degree with a minimum of 7 years of operational (warfighting) experience
