We are looking for a Field Engineer to join our established team in Derby. In this role, you will be a valued central member of the team, providing an important engineering service for our systems and related products. Role overview:
- Hours of work: Annualised hours - based on a 40hr week - Mon-Fri
- Salary: £28,000 - £32,000 dependant on experience
- Location: Mostly at customer sites, throughout UK (You will also be required to spend time at our Derby Head Office, for meetings/training and to collect stock etc).
- Reports to: Chief Engineer and Operations Manager/Director.
What’s involved?
- Ensuring all required equipment is available and packed safely for transit to the customer.
- Assisting System Engineers to:
- Carry out full radio site surveys of customer sites.
- Complete all necessary paperwork relating to site surveys.
- Installation work safely and efficiently as per site survey documents.
- Commissioning of installations to correct laid-down standards.
- Preventative maintenance visits at customer sites.
- Walk-tests on customer sites to ensure full coverage.
- Liaising onsite with the customers' representatives and system users.
- Attending fault calls – diagnosing and fixing as required.
- Carrying out installation, routine maintenance and repair of related communication systems.
- Other duties designated by the Chief Engineer or Board of Management, as required.
You will also need to:
- Adhere to all Health and Safety rules & legislation and customer/site rules.
- Complete timesheets and expense forms accurately.
- Attend training courses as required.
- Liaise with the Operations Team regarding work schedules.
Important notes:
- This role requires:
- Driving to customer sites.
- Being on the company's 24x7 call-out rota for customer support.
- Some overnight stays (amounts vary from week to week).
- The use of a ladder from time to time.
- Completion of an enhanced DBS check.
