The Junior Technical Product Consultant supports the delivery and configuration of IT Service Management (ITSM) solutions for customers. Working under the guidance of senior consultants and liaising with technical specialists, you will assist across the project life cycle—from requirements gathering through configuration, testing, and deployment—while developing hands-on expertise with Alemba products and related technologies.
This role is designed for someone early in their IT consulting journey or who has an IT Service Desk background, who is comfortable learning new technologies, working with enterprise software, and gradually taking on more technical responsibilities as experience grows.
Duties & Responsibilities- Support delivery of Alemba ITSM solutions.
- Assist in configuring and deploying Alemba software features initially under supervision.
- Participate in workshops and requirements-gathering sessions, documenting user needs and translating them into clear notes for the project team.
- Liaise with internal teams to investigate issues or minor defects and apply small fixes or configuration changes under guidance.
- Support quality assurance activities.
- Develop technical and product expertise.
- Build foundational knowledge of Alemba products.
- Learn ITIL practices and understand how ITSM processes map to system features and workflows.
- Maintain up-to-date awareness of industry best practices and technical trends.
- Support senior consultants in demonstrating product features or assisting with pre-sales activities such as RFI responses or technical walk-throughs.
- Observe and co-deliver product training sessions as skills develop.
- Assist in creating and maintaining documentation, configuration guides, and project materials including user training videos.
- Contribute to enhancement suggestions on technical forums or feedback channels.
- Help gather structured input for future product enhancements by recording customer observations, recurring needs, or potential gaps.
- Support the execution of project tasks according to timelines, budgets, and scope.
- Occasionally travel to customer sites when required (typically local or regional including overnight stays but may require international travel as your role expands).
- Be willing to adjust working hours when collaborating across time zones.
- A minimum of 2-3 years’ experience in the IT Service Management industry.
- Foundational understanding of software, databases, or IT infrastructure gained through study, certifications, or previous work experience.
- Familiarity with ITSM principles; ITIL Foundation is preferred or willingness to obtain it.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to break down customer issues logically.
- A natural curiosity and willingness to learn and adapt.
- Understanding of networking basics, security concepts, or system architecture.
- Awareness of integration concepts involving email, Active Directory, or asset discovery tools.
- Familiarity with data models or schemas in enterprise applications.
- Solid data analysis skills and ability to draw out insights to help inform decisions.
- Business-acumen or ability to view the software product in a business/market context.
- Enthusiastic learner with strong curiosity about technology and problem-solving.
- Reliable team player who can work independently when needed but seeks support appropriately.
- Communicates ideas clearly and professionally, with strong presentation skills and a high attention to detail.
