Permanent Position - Hybrid Role (3 days on UK site)

If you're a senior FM engineering professional who's built your career running complex, high-stakes technical operations on major FM contracts and you're looking for a role where you genuinely set the agenda this opportunity could be for you.

The Role

Our client is a leading global FM provider with a long-standing, high-profile contract delivering engineering and technical services across multiple pharmaceutical EMEA estates. As Engineering Lead for the account, you'll be the most senior technical person on one of the most demanding and prestigious contracts in the sector. This isn't a hands-on engineering role. It's a leadership position with part technical authority, part strategic planner, part client director. You'll set engineering standards across all sites, lead a team of Technical Leads and Subject Matter Experts, and make sure the entire operation runs safely, compliantly, and cost-effectively. When something serious happens, a major system failure, a compliance finding, a regulatory inspection then you will be the person who steps in. This a hybrid role working 3 days on site in the UK and will involve occasional European travel.

What You'll Actually Be Doing

  • Setting and enforcing technical standards across a multi-site, multi-region pharmaceutical estate
  • Leading and developing a federated team of specialist Technical Leads and SMEs
  • Acting as the senior point of contact for the customer's stakeholders on all things technical to include reporting, escalations, and strategic planning
  • Owning the CAPEX budget at account level where you will be building multi-year investment plans, writing business cases, and deciding where money gets spent on asset lifecycle and replacement
  • Making sure planned maintenance, statutory compliance, and audit obligations are met across every site
  • Overseeing energy and sustainability delivery across the account
  • Translating high-level strategy into practical, executable plans on the ground

The Environment

The Pharmaceutical sites operate to some of the most stringent regulatory standards in the world. GMP environments, regular audits, zero tolerance for compliance failure. You'll need to be comfortable in that world so ideally you will be either from pharma/life sciences directly, or from another highly regulated estate such as data centres, semiconductors, defence, or critical national infrastructure.

What We're Looking For

  • A proven track record in a senior FM engineering leadership role on a large, complex FM or technical services contract
  • Experience managing multi-disciplinary technical teams across multiple sites
  • Strong CAPEX planning and asset lifecycle management capability
  • Confident communicator at senior client and stakeholder level
  • Familiarity with regulated environments - pharma or life sciences experience a strong advantage
  • Background with a major FM contractor would be advantageous

Why It's Worth Considering

This is a rare opportunity to operate at the very top of a flagship global account, with genuine influence over technical strategy and investment at an enterprise scale. If you've been looking for a role that matches your seniority and ambition, this could be it.

If you believe you have the experience and skills then please forward your CV ASAP.
