Alecto Recruitment is recruiting for a growing specialist engineering business looking for a Mobile Hydraulics / HIAB Engineer to join its team.
With over 30 years' industry experience, the company specialises in the maintenance, repair and aftersales support of truck-mounted hydraulic equipment, including HIAB cranes, lorry loaders, truck-mounted forklifts, hook loaders and skip loaders.
This role would suit an experienced HIAB Engineer, Lorry Loader Engineer, Crane Engineer, Mobile Crane Engineer, Hydraulic Engineer, Hydraulic Fitter, Truck-Mounted Crane Engineer, Crane Technician, Plant Engineer, Forklift Engineer, Access Engineer or Agricultural Engineer looking to develop their career within a specialist hydraulic environment.

The Role
Working across the South East, you'll visit customer sites to carry out servicing, maintenance, LOLER inspections and breakdown repairs on truck-mounted hydraulic and lifting equipment.
You'll work on:
- HIAB cranes / HIAB loaders
- Lorry loaders / loader cranes
- Truck-mounted cranes
- Hydraulic loader cranes
- Moffett / truck-mounted forklifts
- Hook loaders
- Skip loaders
- Roll-on roll-off equipment
- Recovery bodies
- Hydraulic attachments and ancillary equipment
Your duties will include:
- Servicing, maintenance and repairs
- LOLER inspections and overload testing
- Hydraulic fault finding and hose repairs
- Electrical and pneumatic fault finding
- Emergency breakdown assistance
- Diagnosing mechanical and hydraulic issues
- Completing service paperwork and reports
- Providing technical support and advice to customers
About You
You'll ideally have experience working on HIABs, lorry loaders, cranes, forklifts, plant, access equipment, agricultural machinery or similar mobile equipment.
Essential:
- Mechanical engineering experience
- Good understanding of hydraulic systems
- Electrical fault-finding knowledge
- Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently
- Good customer service and communication skills
Desirable:
- HIAB / lorry loader experience
- LOLER inspection experience
- Crane maintenance experience
- Welding experience
- Commercial vehicle experience
- Full UK driving licence
- Full Training Provided
You don't need previous experience on every type of truck-mounted equipment.
Training includes workshop-based development, shadowing experienced mobile engineers, on-the-job product training and manufacturer courses at specialist training centres.
