Alecto Recruitment is proud to be partnering with a leading plant hire company expanding its specialist telehandler engineering team. We are recruiting an experienced Mobile Plant Fitter to support customers across the Midlands. This is a fully mobile, field-based role, ideal for an engineer confident working independently on modern telehandler equipment, with a strong focus on uptime, safety and customer service.
The Role
- On-site diagnostics, servicing, maintenance and repairs on a fleet of JCB and Manitou telehandlers
- Breakdown response and fault finding on hydraulic, electrical and mechanical systems
- Planned preventative maintenance and statutory inspections
- Providing technical support and updates to customers and internal teams
You’ll be the trusted specialist keeping telehandler equipment operating safely and efficiently on hire.

- 52.5-hour contract (Mon-Fri, 07:00-18:00)

What We’re Looking For
- NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Plant Maintenance, Heavy Vehicle Maintenance, or equivalent
- Proven experience as a Plant Fitter, Mobile Engineer, Agricultural Engineer, HGV Technician or Telehandler Engineer
- Strong understanding of diesel engines, hydraulics, electrics and mechanical systems
- Experience working on JCB, Manitou, Merlo or similar telehandlers
- Full UK driving licence (max 3 points)
- Ability to work independently and manage your own workload
- Clear communication skills
