Are you an ambitious Junior AV Designer looking to build a career within the high-end residential smart home and audio-visual industry? An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Junior AV Designer to join a specialist smart home integration company delivering luxury residential technology solutions across London and the Southeast. Working alongside experienced Project Managers, Designers and Engineers, you will gain exposure to the latest home automation, lighting control, audio visual and home cinema technologies whilst supporting the design and delivery of prestigious residential projects.
The Role
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with AutoCAD experience and a passion for technology who is looking to develop their technical design skills within the residential AV sector. Key responsibilities will include:
- Producing AutoCAD drawings, schematics and technical documentation
- Creating rack layouts, wiring diagrams, floor plans and system elevations
- Supporting the design of home cinema, multi-room audio and smart home systems
- Assisting with lighting control and shading layouts
- Reviewing equipment specifications and project requirements
- Preparing technical documentation for installation and commissioning teams
- Coordinating with project, procurement and engineering teams
- Attending site visits, client meetings and design reviews when required
- Assisting with project-based design tasks from concept through to completion
- Researching new technologies, products and industry developments to support innovative system designs.
About You

Essential Requirements
- Experience using AutoCAD
- Good understanding of technical drawings and documentation
- Strong organisational and communication skills
- High attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn
- Eligibility to work within the UK.
Desirable Skills
- Previous experience within the AV, smart home, electrical or construction industries
- Understanding of residential technology systems
- Experience using SketchUp or similar design software
- Knowledge of home automation platforms such as Crestron, Control4, KNX or Lutron
- Experience producing wiring schematics or technical layouts
- An interest in luxury residential construction and smart building technologies.
