Alecto Recruitment are looking to hear from experienced Operations Technicians and Process or Production Technicians interested in working as a Shift Operations Technician for a power generation facility on the Isle of Wight. Working on a 4 on 4 off shift pattern (12-hour day and night rotation), you will carry out frontline operations and maintenance at an energy from waste facility in Newport.

Role Profile:
- Operation of the Isle of Wight contract Energy from Waste Plant.
- Responsible for utilising 'on shift' maintenance skills to carry out routine maintenance and repairs to emergent defects.
- Providing supervision and support to include first line fault finding, technical advice and back up, particularly in dynamic conditions such as breakdowns.
- The ability to work shift patterns with changes at short notice.
- Behaviour of rotating machinery and monitoring techniques.
- Basic chemical processes associated with modern plant such as water treatment and emission control.
- Co-ordinating safety with regard to work activities, releasing plant for maintenance and carrying out isolation.
- Undertaking the role of emergency controller, responsible for managing all site emergencies safely and in line with local procedures.
- Shift logging, ensuring quality defect reporting, fault reporting writing and review of operational work specifications.
- Project work as delegated.
- Producing detailed plant incident reports for any health, safety and environmental incidents.
- Provide additional support during shutdowns and breakdowns.
- Undertake all duties in a reliable, skilled, flexible constructive manner.
- Assisting the team as required.
Desired Applicant Profile:
- Experience in a supervisory role, ideally within the Energy from Waste sector. Alternatively, Power Generation, Water Utilities, Sewage Treatment, CHP, Heavy Engineering sector.
- Experience in a Process Control role.
- Knowledge and understanding of electrical control and distribution systems.
- Excellent Planning and Organisational skills, able to effectively prioritise and multi-task.

- High level of problem-solving skills.
