Job Title: Service Engineer Location: Warwickshire (with UK-wide travel) Position: Full-time About the Role We are working with family-run business based in Warwickshire, specialising in innovative technology solutions for the horticultural industry. We supply automated potting machines, tray fillers, conveyor and dispatch systems, and a range of other equipment used in large-scale plant nurseries. Their machinery is mainly powered by three-phase systems with low-voltage control and safety circuits. Equipment is electrically or pneumatically actuated, with minimal hydraulics or engine work involved. We are looking for a Service Engineer who enjoys variety, problem-solving, and travelling to customer sites across the UK (excluding Ireland). Most customers are within a three-hour journey from our base. This is a hands-on role involving routine servicing, repairs, installations, and project work – with overnight stays typically limited to a maximum of two nights per week. Key Responsibilities Install, maintain, and repair horticultural machinery at customer sites nationwide. Carry out preventative maintenance to maximise system performance. Diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues both on-site and remotely. Support installation projects as part of a team. Prepare and complete accurate service reports and documentation. Assist with parts ordering, re-stocking, and keeping both workshop and service vehicle organised. Set up and test new machinery before delivery to customers.Skills & Experience Previous experience in service engineering, technical support, or a related role (horticultural/agricultural experience is beneficial but not essential – full training provided). Strong mechanical skills required; electrical knowledge an advantage. Logical approach to fault finding and repairs. Good communication skills and a customer-focused attitude. Ability to work independently and manage time effectively. Willingness to travel across the UK with occasional overnight stays. Full UK driving licence.
