If you hold your NVQ Level 3 in Vehicle Maintenance & Repair, our client can provide the training and support needed to transition from automotive into HGV and trailer maintenance - with increased earning potential once fully trained.
You'll join a well-established workshop team in Scunthorpe, working alongside experienced HGV professionals in a supportive and modern workshop environment.
The Role
- Routine servicing and maintenance on trailers and commercial vehicles
- Mechanical and electrical fault diagnosis and repair
- Pre-MOT inspections and DVSA-compliant repairs
- Working on braking systems, suspension, lighting, hydraulics, and trailer components
- Using workshop diagnostic equipment and tools safely and effectively
- Completing maintenance records and inspection paperwork accurately
- Supporting workshop operations as part of a strong team environment
What We're Looking For
- NVQ Level 3 in Vehicle Maintenance & Repair (essential)
- Experience as an Automotive Technician, Vehicle Technician, Car Mechanic, or similar
- Strong mechanical and diagnostic skills
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn the HGV industry
- Ability to work independently and within a team
- Full UK Driving Licence
Desirable (Not Essential)
- Previous HGV or trailer experience
- Welding or fabrication experience
- IRTEC accreditation
- HGV Class 1 or 2 licence
