Alecto Recruitment is recruiting on behalf of a long-established, highly reputable commercial vehicle operation with modern, fully equipped workshops. We are seeking experienced HGV Technicians for both Day/After shifts and Night Shifts at their Salford site. This is a stable, secure role with excellent earning potential, regular overtime, and long-term career development.
Available Shifts
- Day / After Shift Pattern
- Week 1: 07:00 - 15:30
- Week 2: 12:30 - 21:00
- Plus 1 in 3 Saturday mornings (08:00 - 12:00)
- Monday - Thursday: 20:30 - 07:00
You must have one of the following:
- NVQ Level 3 or City & Guilds in HGV Maintenance
- IRTEC accreditation (advantageous) OR be a time-served HGV mechanic with minimum 5 years' experience
You should be able to diagnose, repair and maintain HGVs safely, professionally and to manufacturer standards. Your responsibilities will include:
- Carrying out routine inspections, servicing and repairs
- Diagnosing faults and reporting findings
- Completing all work to the latest manufacturer standards
- Maintaining a safe and efficient workshop environment
- Working closely with the Workshop Manager
Experience with tippers, tipper grabs, beaver tails, cranes or hydraulics is beneficial, but training can be provided.
Day/After Shift Salary Breakdown
- Basic Pay: 40 hrs @ £20.33/hr = £42,286.40 per annum
- Saturday Mornings (1 in 3): 4 hrs @ £30.49/hr = £2,073.66 per annum
- Total Base Earnings: £44,360.06 per annum
- Optional Overtime (Non-compulsory):
- 5 hrs weekly @ £30.49/hr = £7,927.40 per annum
- 10 hrs weekly @ £30.49/hr = £15,854.80 per annum
Night Shift Salary Breakdown
- Basic Pay: 40 hrs @ £24.81/hr = £51,604.80 per annum
- Optional Overtime: 6 hrs weekly @ £37.21/hr = £11,609.52 per annum
- Total Potential Earnings: Up to £63,500 per annum
