Permanent Role/Hybrid (2/3 days Office)
Our client is a leading sprinkler contractor who are looking for a lead sprinkler designer to be based on the south coast. The designer who comes in to this position will be joining an established sprinkler contractor delivering commercial, industrial, educational, residential and mixed-use projects across the UK. The role sits within a technically strong team where your judgement, code knowledge and practical site awareness will be valued. This role will be initially a hybrid role, but can move into a full remote position after 3 months.
Key responsibilities include:
- Full sprinkler system design in accordance with LPC Rules, BS EN 12845, FM Global and relevant UK standards
- Hydraulic calculations and system demand assessments
- Producing coordinated layouts, pipework detailing and installation drawings
- Working closely with project managers, site teams, clients and approval bodies
- Technical support through procurement, installation and commissioning phases
- Managing design changes, clash resolution and compliance requirements
- Supporting junior designers where appropriate
We’re specifically interested in individuals who already understand:
- UK sprinkler contracting environments
- LPCB expectations and insurer driven projects
- Fast-paced design-and-build delivery
- Coordination pressures within live BIM/Revit projects
- The balance between compliant design and practical installation

- Sprinkler Design Engineer
- Fire Protection Designer
- Lead Sprinkler Engineer
Experience required:
- Proven sprinkler design experience within the UK market
- Strong knowledge of LPC Rules and BS EN 12845
- Competence with hydraulic calculation software and AutoCAD/Revit
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects
- Commercial awareness and strong technical communication
