Alecto Recruitment is partnering with a leading figure in the Anaerobic Digestion sector, who is looking for a Plant Operator to assist in the daily operations of an Anaerobic Digestion facility.
Responsibilities
- Safely receive products and oversee AD process operations to meet site targets, using plant and equipment (e.g., telehandler).
- Carry out routine maintenance, safety checks, and keep site/plant clean and tidy.
- Ensure a safe and healthy working environment at all times.
- Support compliance with Environmental Permit, ABPR, and PAS 110.
- Operate SCADA monitoring, weighbridge, and de-packaging machinery.
- Follow procedures within the Information Management System and maintain accurate records.
- Demonstrate professional and helpful behaviour with all clients, colleagues, and visitors.
- Participate in the on-call rota (weekdays/weekends).
- Maintain Health, Safety, Quality, and Environmental standards and records.
- Liaise with clients, drivers, staff, and management regarding deliveries.
Skills and Qualifications
- Experienced in operating SCADA systems.
- Skilled in using a loading shovel, tractor, and telehandler.
- Trained in abrasive wheel use (desirable).
- Knowledge of working at height and ladder safety.
- First Aid qualified.
- Confined Space trained.
- Strong mechanical aptitude.
- Understanding of the waste industry and composting processes (advantage).
- Able to work effectively in controlled environments.
