Plant Operator
£30,000 – £34,000 (Days only)

Alecto Recruitment are exclusively partnering with a key figure within the Anaerobic Digestion sector who owns and operates AD plants. Our client are looking for an experienced Plant Operator to join them to assist in the operations and maintenance on their Anaerobic Digestion facility.
Key Responsibilities:
Respond to operational demands to ensure safe and efficient energy and gas production.
Operate core systems for daily plant functions.
Prepare feedstock for the next shift according to the recipe card.
Process daily logs, identifying and addressing issues promptly.
Accurately record and input data daily.
Operate the weighbridge to log all site intakes and outloads.
Operate heavy machinery (Telehandler, forklift, tractors, loading shovel) for material handling, digester feeding, and vehicle loading.
Perform equipment checks, basic maintenance, and record via OMS.
Conduct routine and preventative maintenance as per procedures.
Sample digesters and perform lab analysis twice weekly.
Manage the silage clamp, ensuring neat storage and disposal of materials.
Ensure contractors follow safety procedures and risk assessments.
Enforce company policies and report near misses.
Adhere to health and safety protocols at all times.
Take ownership during shifts, reporting issues to Engineering and Management.
Always use appropriate safety gear, including gas monitors and PPE.
Qualifications & Skills needed:
A good understanding of all relevant Health and Safety aspects is a fundamental requirement.
Computer literate with experience of operating HMI/SCADA is essential.
2+ years working within the Anaerobic Digestion sector, or similar process environment.
Possessing a background in either mechanical, electrical or process engineering is beneficial.
Good verbal/written communication skills in English.
A strong team player with a can-do working attitude.
