The Role
As a Plant Inspector, Compliance Inspector, or LOLER Inspection Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring company plant and equipment remains safe, compliant, and maintained to the highest standards. Your responsibilities will include:
- Carrying out LOLER inspections on plant, machinery, chains, and lifting equipment
- Completing PUWER inspections across a diverse fleet of construction plant and equipment
- Producing inspection reports, certificates, and compliance documentation
- Conducting quality control inspections on repairs completed by Plant Fitters and Service Engineers
- Completing off-hire inspections of company-owned assets
- Monitoring equipment condition and identifying potential issues before they become costly failures
- Providing technical support and guidance to site teams and the wider plant department
- Assisting with technical investigations, warranty claims, and equipment queries
- Carrying out occasional light fitting duties such as jump-starting machinery and replacing fuel filters
About You
We're interested in hearing from candidates currently working as a Plant Inspector, LOLER Inspector, Plant Engineer, Workshop Engineer, Field Service Engineer, Plant Fitter, Plant Compliance Engineer, Lifting Equipment Inspector, Crane Inspector, Machinery Inspector, Asset Inspector, or Construction Plant Surveyor. You will ideally have:
- Relevant NVQ qualification in Plant Maintenance, Plant Inspection, Mechanical Engineering, or similar
- Experience carrying out LOLER and PUWER inspections
- Strong knowledge of construction plant, machinery, and lifting equipment
- Excellent diagnostic and fault-finding skills
- Good IT skills with experience producing reports and compliance documentation
- Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to safety and compliance
- Full UK driving licence
