Operations Technician – Power Station (EfW / Power Generation) Kent Circa £65,000 + Benefits + Bonus Alecto Recruitment is currently recruiting for an experienced Operations Technician to join the operations team at an Energy from Waste (EfW) facility in Kent. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a power station operation, with excellent salary, overtime opportunities, and career progression. The Role – Key Responsibilities As an Operations Technician, you will support the Shift Team Leaders with all operational activities on site, including: Starting, stopping, and monitoring gas turbines, steam turbines, heat recovery steam generators, pumps, water treatment plant, and heat exchangers via the DCS control system. Diagnosing plant-related issues and carrying out first-line maintenance tasks, reporting defects to the Shift Team Leader. Conducting routine operational checks and plant testing. Supervising and managing contractors working on site. Assisting with specific projects to develop your knowledge of the plant and operations. Ensuring all work is carried out safely, with strict adherence to health and safety procedures. Requirements To be considered for this role, you will have: Operational experience within Power Generation (steam cycle experience is advantageous). Alternatively, candidates from similar industries or with a Naval / Military engineering background will also be considered. A relevant engineering qualification (e.g. NVQ Level 3 or equivalent). The ability to support across Mechanical, Electrical, or C&I disciplines when required. A strong focus on health, safety, and environmental compliance. Package & Benefits Salary: Circa £65,000.
