Alecto Recruitment is partnered with a market leader in the Energy from Waste sector, and together we are searching for an O&M Maintenance Manager to be responsible for the plant maintenance function at their Energy from Waste plant in Berkshire.

Key Responsibilities:
- Overall accountability for plant maintenance, ensuring safe, reliable operation in line with environmental and contractual requirements.
- Lead and develop maintenance teams, with responsibility for performance, capability, and resource planning.
- Work closely with Operations, HSE, and Purchasing to support production targets and plant availability.
- Act as technical authority for maintenance strategy, reliability improvement, and asset lifecycle management.
- Promote a strong HSEQ culture across all maintenance activities.
- Lead and manage maintenance engineers, contractors, and subcontractors to deliver safe and effective planned and reactive maintenance.
- Maintain plant availability in line with contractual commitments, including outage planning and delivery.
- Manage maintenance budgets, control costs, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with UK HSE legislation, environmental permits, and operating standards through audits and inspections.
- Lead root cause investigations, oversee HSE monitoring, and ensure timely reporting and escalation of incidents or non-compliance.
- Responsibilities may evolve in line with business needs.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- Recognised HSE training or certification.
- Strong technical knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems in industrial environments.
- Evidence of continuous professional development; training in maintenance systems, reliability, or asset management is advantageous.
- Proven experience in plant maintenance within EfW, power generation, or similar process industries.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain complex plant, equipment, and material handling systems.
- Experience implementing maintenance management systems, including preventive and predictive maintenance.
- Strong leadership experience managing multi-disciplinary teams in safety-critical, regulated environments.
