Overview

Plant Fitter / Mobile Plant Mechanic / Construction Equipment Fitter / Heavy Equipment Technician / Site Plant Engineer – Huddersfield

Salary: £40,000 per year | Working hours: Mon-Fri, 7:30 – 17:00 (includes a 30-minute lunch); No weekends

This role is predominantly mobile, with some time in the workshop, offering variety and a great work-life balance.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain, service, and repair a wide range of construction plant and machinery, including dumpers, excavators, rollers, telehandlers, skid steers, mini diggers, generators, pumps, tools & light equipment, and more.
  • Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical faults.
  • Ensure all plant is safe, compliant, and ready for use.
  • Support planned preventative maintenance (PPM) programs.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Experience as a Plant Fitter, Mobile Plant Mechanic, Construction Equipment Fitter, Heavy Plant Fitter, Excavator Mechanic, Dumper Mechanic, Site Plant Engineer, or Heavy Equipment Technician
  • Strong mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical knowledge
  • Ability to work independently and on-site across multiple locations
  • Full UK driving license (essential for mobile work)
  • CSCS card desirable but not essential
