Alecto Recruitment is working with a leading provider of cutting-edge commercial audio-visual solutions, delivering high-quality installations across corporate offices, education, hospitality, retail, government, and public-sector environments. Due to sustained growth and increasing demand for their services, our client is seeking an ambitious Junior AV Installation Engineer to join their expanding commercial engineering team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong practical skills and a passion for technology to progress into the professional AV industry.

The Role

As a Junior Commercial AV Installer, you will assist senior engineers with the installation, setup, and commissioning of a range of professional audio-visual systems. Projects will vary and can include boardrooms, meeting rooms, classrooms, auditoriums, retail displays, and digital signage.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting the installation of commercial AV systems including displays, projectors, interactive screens, speakers, microphones, and control systems
  • Assisting with 1st fix and 2nd fix work, bracket mounting, and hardware installation
  • Running, routing, and terminating structured cabling (CAT5/6/7), speaker cable, HDMI, and AV signal cables
  • Installing racks, patch panels, networking equipment, and AV peripherals
  • Supporting the integration of technologies including: Video conferencing systems (Zoom, Teams, Logitech, Poly), Digital signage and IPTV, Audio distribution and PA systems, Presentation and control systems (Crestron, AMX, Extron, Control4, etc.)
  • Carrying out cable pulling, containment installation, trunking, and conduit work
  • Ensuring high installation standards following site drawings and plans
  • Working safely on commercial sites and assisting in testing & commissioning

This role provides excellent exposure to all aspects of commercial AV integration.

Requirements

We are seeking candidates with strong practical and technical instincts. Ideally, you will have:

  • Experience in 1st fix / 2nd fix electrical or cabling work
  • A background as an electrical mate/ improver, IT cabling installer, or similar hands-on role
  • Basic understanding of cabling, terminations, and tools used in AV or electrical installation
  • Familiarity with CAT5 / CAT6 cabling or data/network cabling
  • Good problem-solving ability and willingness to learn
  • Strong work ethic and a commitment to delivering quality workmanship
  • A flexible approach with willingness to travel to various commercial sites
  • Full UK driving licence

Any experience with commercial AV systems, IT networks, CCTV, access control, or telecoms cabling is beneficial but full training will be provided.

Training & Development

Package
