The EV Project Manager will lead the development, technical shaping, and pricing of Electric Vehicle (EV) infrastructure opportunities, converting early-stage client enquiries into commercially viable and technically deliverable projects in deployment, managing a team of project managers and field resource.

The role will support the successful delivery of bids across on-street charging, fleet charging, and High-Power Charging (HPC) programmes, bringing practical electrical installation expertise into the bidding and project development process. The successful candidate will ensure that installation methodologies, infrastructure requirements, and cost assumptions accurately reflect real-world delivery conditions.

A key element of the role will involve developing and managing the specialist supply chain required to support EV infrastructure delivery, including electrical contractors, ICP partners, designers, and technology providers. The role will also support the company's NERS accreditation journey and contribute to building future in-house electrical delivery capability as the business expands. The position will carry pipeline and revenue targets and play a key role in growing the company's EV infrastructure portfolio.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development of commercially viable and technically deliverable EV infrastructure and maintenance opportunities.
  • Engage with clients, stakeholders, and project teams to clarify project scope and technical requirements.
  • Support business growth through active pipeline development and opportunity conversion.
  • Identify strategic opportunities within the evolving EV infrastructure market.

Estimating & Commercial

  • Lead the technical development of bids and proposals for EV infrastructure projects.
  • Work closely with commercial teams to ensure robust, accurate, and competitive submissions.
  • Prepare cost estimates and pricing models for EV charging infrastructure, electrical connections, and associated civils works.
  • Coordinate technical and commercial inputs from supply chain partners to produce deliverable proposals.
  • Identify technical risks, programme constraints, and cost drivers that may impact delivery strategy or commercial viability.

Supply Chain Development

  • Identify, onboard, and manage specialist EV and electrical delivery partners, including ICPs, electrical contractors, and design consultants.
  • Develop relationships with technology providers and installation partners to support scalable EV infrastructure delivery.
  • Ensure supply chain inputs contribute to realistic, competitive, and deliverable project proposals.
  • Monitor supply chain capability, performance, and compliance standards.

Grid Connections & Technical Development

  • Coordinate with ICPs and DNOs to assess network capacity and connection costs.
  • Support the preparation of grid connection applications and technical submissions.
  • Ensure schemes are developed in accordance with DNO requirements and contestable works processes.
  • Provide technical oversight during project development and bid stages.

NERS & Capability Development

  • Support the company's NERS accreditation process, helping establish procedures, governance, and technical standards required for certification.
  • Contribute to the development of internal electrical delivery capability with the long-term aim of increasing self-delivery of electrical works.
  • Promote continuous improvement and technical best practice across EV operations.

Safety Culture Leadership

  • Promote and champion a safety-first culture across all projects and supply chain activities.
  • Ensure installation methodologies comply with relevant UK legislation, electrical standards, and industry best practice.
  • Support safe systems of work and ongoing compliance initiatives.

Skills

  • Significant experience delivering electrical installation projects or similar programmes.
  • Experience supporting estimating, tender development, or bid preparation activities.
  • Exposure to EV charging infrastructure or projects involving electric vehicle charging systems.
  • Experience managing subcontractors, electrical contractors, and specialist supply chain partners.
  • Understanding of DNO processes, ICP works, and grid connections would be advantageous.
  • Strong commercial awareness with the ability to balance technical and financial considerations.
  • Strong understanding of EV charging infrastructure and associated electrical systems.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and installation requirements.
  • Good IT and reporting skills, including experience with estimating and project management systems.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.

Qualifications

  • Recognised electrical qualification (NVQ Level 3 / City & Guilds Electrical Installation or equivalent).
  • 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS 7671). (Non Essential)
  • Inspection & Testing qualification (City & Guilds 2391 or equivalent) desirable.
  • City & Guilds 2919 Electric Vehicle Charging Equipment Installation or equivalent desirable.
  • Professional Project Management Qualification.
  • Health and Safety Qualification or equivalent desirable.

In return the client will offer: £45,000 - £50,000 P/a, Real progression as the business grows alongside being able to be the person growing the division, Vehicle/Car Allowance.
