The Opportunity
Are you an experienced AV Service Engineer looking for a senior role where you can take ownership of complex technical issues, work with leading AV and collaboration technologies, and become a trusted technical resource for both customers and fellow engineers? We're looking for a Senior AV Service Engineer to join an established service team supporting professional Audio Visual, Video Conferencing and Unified Communications (AV/VC/UC) environments. This is a varied, hands-on position combining field service, advanced fault finding, preventative maintenance, remote technical support and customer interaction. You'll also act as an escalation point for other engineers, sharing your knowledge and helping develop the wider technical team. If you're an experienced AV Field Service Engineer, AV Support Engineer or AV/VC Engineer looking for the next step in your career, we'd like to hear from you.
What You'll Be Doing
- Field Service & Technical Support
You’ll take ownership of AV service calls from initial diagnosis through to successful resolution, both on-site and remotely. Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing on-site service and technical support across customer locations, predominantly within London
- Diagnosing and resolving faults across integrated AV, VC and UC systems
- Carrying out advanced AV fault finding and break/fix support
- Providing remote technical support via telephone, email, video conferencing and remote-access tools
- Completing planned and preventative maintenance visits
- Performing system health checks and identifying potential issues before they become faults
- Supporting Microsoft Teams Rooms, Zoom Rooms and other collaboration environments
- Assisting with system configuration and commissioning where required
- Updating technical documentation, system records and AV/IT schedules
- Providing clear system guidance and user training
- Ensuring service tickets and reports are accurately completed
- Working within agreed customer SLAs and response times
Be the Technical Expert
This isn’t simply a reactive service position. As a senior engineer, you’ll be trusted to investigate more challenging technical issues and provide support when other engineers need additional expertise. You’ll:
- Act as an escalation point for complex AV and UC faults
- Support and mentor less experienced engineers
- Share technical knowledge and best practice across the service team
- Assist colleagues with diagnosis and troubleshooting
- Take ownership of high-priority or technically demanding service incidents
- Maintain a strong understanding of developing AV, UC and collaboration technologies
- Help improve engineering processes, technical standards and service delivery
- Identify recurring technical issues and help develop long-term solutions
Technology & Systems
You’ll be working across a broad range of professional AV, collaboration and unified communications technologies. Experience with several of the following would be highly beneficial:
- Crestron
- Q-SYS / QSC
- Shure
- Logitech
- Poly
- Microsoft Teams Rooms (MTR)
- Zoom Rooms
- Dante
- AV over IP (AVoIP)
- Video conferencing and collaboration systems
- Audio DSP and signal routing
- Commercial display and presentation systems
- IP networking within AV environments
You don’t need to know every manufacturer or platform. What’s more important is having strong underlying AV troubleshooting and fault-finding skills and being confident investigating unfamiliar systems.
What We’re Looking For
We’re looking for someone with a strong background in professional AV service and support who is comfortable working independently in customer-facing environments. You’ll ideally have:
- Previous experience as an AV Service Engineer, AV Field Service Engineer, AV Support Engineer, AV/VC Engineer or similar
- Strong professional AV fault-finding and troubleshooting experience
- Good knowledge of integrated Audio Visual, Video Conferencing and Unified Communications systems
- Experience supporting commercial or corporate AV environments
- An understanding of Microsoft Teams Rooms and/or Zoom Rooms
- Familiarity with control, DSP and collaboration technologies such as Crestron, Q-SYS and Shure
- A practical understanding of IP networking as it relates to AV systems

- A methodical approach to diagnosing technical issues
- The confidence to take ownership of problems through to resolution
- The ability to manage priorities and work effectively under pressure
- Excellent attention to detail
- The ability to work independently while remaining part of a wider technical team
- A willingness to share knowledge and support junior engineers
- A professional and customer-focused approach
- Flexibility to travel when required

For the right person, the role provides a strong combination of:
- Technical ownership
