Overview

What you'll be responsible for:

  • Driving a positive, proactive safety culture through regular inspections, audits, and engagement
  • Delivering health & safety training and mentoring teams to embed best practice
  • Monitoring compliance, analysing data, and identifying trends to strengthen safeguards
  • Leading on incident investigations, near‐miss reporting, and behavioural safety initiatives
  • Acting as the site Fire Safety Lead, ensuring statutory inspections and plans are fully up to date
  • Inducting visitors, contractors, and new starters, ensuring RAMS are suitable and sufficient
  • Overseeing traffic management plans and collaborating with environmental and facilities teams
  • Playing an active role within the site management team, influencing standards and decisions

What you'll need to succeed:

This role is ideal for someone who is confident, credible, and hands‐on.

  • NEBOSH General Certificate (minimum)
  • Proven experience in a Health & Safety role (waste or industrial environments preferred)
  • Strong leadership and analytical skills
  • Comfortable working in a fast‐paced operational setting
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office
  • Full UK driving licence and availability for on‐call emergencies
