What you'll be responsible for:
- Driving a positive, proactive safety culture through regular inspections, audits, and engagement
- Delivering health & safety training and mentoring teams to embed best practice
- Monitoring compliance, analysing data, and identifying trends to strengthen safeguards
- Leading on incident investigations, nearâmiss reporting, and behavioural safety initiatives
- Acting as the site Fire Safety Lead, ensuring statutory inspections and plans are fully up to date
- Inducting visitors, contractors, and new starters, ensuring RAMS are suitable and sufficient
- Overseeing traffic management plans and collaborating with environmental and facilities teams
- Playing an active role within the site management team, influencing standards and decisions
What you'll need to succeed:
This role is ideal for someone who is confident, credible, and handsâon.
- NEBOSH General Certificate (minimum)
- Proven experience in a Health & Safety role (waste or industrial environments preferred)
- Strong leadership and analytical skills
- Comfortable working in a fastâpaced operational setting
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Proficient with Microsoft Office
- Full UK driving licence and availability for onâcall emergencies
